City of London Distillery, London

Those interested in London’s gin history should head to the City of London Distillery. It’s the only distillery located within London’s Square Mile, meaning gin production has been brought back to the origins of the Gin Craze of the 1700s. Though the distillery has been producing gin and sending it out in St Paul’s-inspired bottles since 2012, the space’s huge underground bar has recently completed a renovation, equipped with several world class bartenders, as well as a gin selection focused on fresh london dry, creamy old tom, and fruity sloe gin. The site’s laboratory and tasting room have also been widened and refurbished, and a new signature cocktail menu is set to be launched in early 2020, to make full use of the dapper new digs.
