James Cree’s Straight Bourbon is aged for 3 years in 53 US Gallon charred American new oak barrels. Very few whiskies in this price segment carry an age statement.
Distilled from a mash bill comprising 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% barley in Indiana. Anything over 20% is considered a ‘high rye’ content.
Straight Bourbon refers to the liquid coming from one distillery (like a single malt in Scotland) and that the liquid is older than the minimum 2 year age requirement.
Nose: Vanilla and gingerbread.
Flavour: Rich and rounded with layers of creamy vanilla, citrus zest, gingerbread and sweet oak.
Finish: Lingering with sweetness and spice.
